Regarding GSoC 2025 result

Are the GSoC 2025 contributors announced?

Thank you for your interest in AiiDA and for considering us as part of your Google Summer of Code journey. After careful internal discussions and an assessment of our mentoring capacity, we have made the difficult decision not to participate in GSoC this year. This decision is not a reflection on any individual applicant, but rather a result of limited supervisory resources and our commitment to ensuring a high-quality mentoring experience.

We’ve also noticed broader changes in the application landscape, including the growing use of AI tools like ChatGPT. While such tools can be valuable in development, they sometimes make it harder for us to evaluate the depth of engagement from applicants. At times, even routine communication can feel less genuine, with a mask of AI tools creating an additional layer that makes it more challenging and time-intensive for our small team to effectively assess and mentor contributors.

Given the significant effort required to provide meaningful guidance, we felt it would be more responsible to pause our participation this cycle rather than stretch our capacity thin or compromise on quality.

Please note that the above observations are general and not directed at any individual—they reflect the overall time and resource considerations we’ve had to weigh. We sincerely appreciate your understanding and wish you continued success in your open source journey and beyond.

Dear Aiida Team,
I would like to express my gratitude for the opportunity to apply this year. Although I was not selected, I completely understand and respect the decision.

If possible, I would greatly appreciate any feedback on my application. Understanding the areas where I can improve would be invaluable in helping me enhance my future opportunities.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
